We are Turning into an Urban Farm

After visiting a neighbor with chickens, and being convinced that we could leave them without too much trouble to go on vacation, we decided to try raising chickens ourselves.
Tim and I have always wanted to get chickens, and we finally did it!
We started out getting one chicken per person in our family. Everyone got their own unique breed-and it has been fun to see the differences in breeds as they get older. Sarah and Will's lay blue and green eggs. All are very friendly. Eggs won't come until December, and we are patiently waiting.

While Tim was in Vernal, he was offered some adult hens, and that is how we got 4 more chickens-and now we are able to get some eggs. Not a lot, but some. It seems like Christmas every day as the kids rush out to look for eggs!

We got to share our first egg dinner with Mom while she was her in Utah. Simply Delicious!
