Butterflies & Piano Recitals

This last weekend the kids had a piano recital-four of our kids take piano lessons, and so we take up a good portion of the recital. There are two recitals a year, and one of them is in a recital hall in a more formal setting. It makes for more butterflies before the performance...I don't know who has more butterflies-Mom and Dad, or the kids performing.

It is so much fun to see our kids progress in their hard work-we talked on the way home from the recital how each daily piano practice takes 20 minutes of time no matter how hard they work on their piano...it is so much more advantageous to use that 20 minutes to do your best, rather than gliding through-it takes the same amount of time. It was thought provoking for me as well.
