An Update On Sarah

It can be both sad (reminiscent) and joyous to see Sarah grow up. She will be applying for colleges in the fall, and we have to keep reminding her that though she is just shy of being college-bound, we still want to enjoy her for the next year before she leaves for school. Sarah is really getting ready for that next step of college, and Tim and I can't believe that she is flying the coop...not yet, but a year away seems like such little time in comparison to the 17 years we have already had with her.

And to give you Sarah in a nutshell...

1. She quit her piano job for a job at the Gap. She has been working at the Gap for a month now and loves it. The style there is right up her alley. The store manager told her she is the first employee hired under the age of 18 in a LONG time-she trained for a week, and is now enjoying working on the floor. We are waiting to see the deals she will find for herself. I am just sad that she can't share her employee discounts with us at all. Boo Hoo.

2. Sarah has found her own "style" in clothes over the last three months. She shops at all stores (including DI), and gets quite a handful of compliments on her outfits every day. She has a group of girls at school that have all started a binder of outfit ideas like Sarah has, and they have asked Sarah to take them to DI help them find pieces to add to their own wardrobe. Sarah is starting her own fashion blog-it is still being designed, but watch for her "outfit a day" on the blog. She is really excited to design the blog!

3. Sarah has expanded her social connections quite a bit this year. When her best friend left the high school for her "home" high school in the fall, Sarah was devastated. It has turned into a blessing, as Sarah and her best friend have become even closer because of this. They are closer this year than they were last year. Sarah also gets to be on the high school TV every few weeks, which has resulted in dates...
