And, the sport of the summer is....

We like medals as much as Mike and Alissa. Thus, the sport of track. Sarah has done track for the past few summers, but had to give it up this summer because she has too many other things going on. Nathan couldn't do it because of scouts. But, Ben decided to give it a try. It is his first try at a sport. He was so excited! We drop him off for practices two times a week, and has track meets at nights as well. It is OK that it takes a lot of time right now because we don't have school obligations.
At Ben's first track meet he ran the 800m and got 2nd place. That was among 8-10 year olds.
He has won at least two ribbons per meet, and we are thinking that he is a pretty good runner. Best of all, he loves to do it.
Last week, they had a county track meet for anyone to participate, and Sarah and Nathan registered for it (Ben was too young). Sarah ran the mile, which was a great stretch for her. I remember as a kid how fun it is to get those ribbons.
Afterwards, we went to Sonic for free root beer floats (we like the word free).
