Our peach tree has been growing now for over a year. Last year (we planted it in the spring) we had no fruit. This year, we got one peach. Neighbors who are expert peach growers recommended we pick all peaches so that the tree could use its energy growing, not producing fruit. But, we couldn't resist letting just one stay on the tree. Nathan went out one day to check on our peach, and came in with it. We celebrated by eating it for dinner that night!
