Sarah's Favorites (not necessarily in any order):
1.
Waiting for her acceptance/denial letter from BYU (Nathan has informed us that if Sarah doesn't get into BYU, there is no hope for him). She got an email from BYU this afternoon (via email) saying that the aforementioned letters will be coming out this weekend. Stay tuned!2. One of our favorite hobbies to do together right
now is "outfit pictures". It only takes 10 minutes/day. I am the photographer, Sarah the model. She uses these pictures on her blog (http://sarahtaylormade.blogspot.com/). She loves updating how her blog looks, posting outfit pictures, as well as tutorials. We have many conversations about how to make this blog fit Sarah's personality in just the right ways.3. Sleep is a favorite, even though she doesn't get any.
4. Winning is always a favorite (who doesn't like to win). Yes, our family is competitetive. I know that is hard to believe at times...but, we are. Sarah had her Sterling Scholar competition, as well as an FCCLA competition this week. She doesn'
t mind public speaking, and so these competitions are perfect for her. These competitions have been "long-term investments", with returns few and far in between. But, the payoff (when it does come), seems well worth the wait.5. Sarah loves the freebies she comes home with from The Gap. Last week she noticed leftover Christmas gifts in the back room that were given to employees. She loves Stephen's hot chocolate, marshmallows, and candy canes...Sarah waited until just the right manager was working and asked if she could take one home. Of course she could! And, she was just delighted (mostly for the hot chocolate)! I was thrilled to take the packaging that it came in off her hands-reuse, recycle...We all love free in this family! You will have to ask Sarah about the display bars that she didn't get ("Mom, they would have been perfect in my dorm room!"), and the yarn balls that she did get!
6. Hot chocolate has become a trend in S
arah's first period class. A trend? Most definitely. Who has the cutest/coolest (for boys) hot chocolate mug? And, Sarah loves that she finally has a really nice mug that keep her chocolate warm forever, and doesn't spill. Ever.7. Sarah loves money...OK. Not really. But, she is liking the fact that her bank account is finally filling up. And, it is sad to think that after saving for 18 years of her life, it could be all gone after 1 year of college. So, she wants more money. Cushion, as we like to call it. And, it is fun to hear what "slush funds" she allows herself. A little for food (restaurants), a little for clothes (Gap, Deseret Industries), etc.
