Tim and I live for weekends, but for different reasons than in the past. It is SO nice to not have to get up with Nate for swim practice on Saturday and Sunday. Sleeping in late has new meaning.
Swimming season officially ended a week ago. Before that, the kids had "tear-down"-the coach worked the kids a lot harder so that their muscles keep tearing down, and never rebuild. A week before regionals, the coach tapers the workouts, so that the muscles rebuild, and are stronger. Times typically improve, and hopefully your ranking improves.
Nathan improved slightly, and was able to attend state in the 200 medley relay....
There are fun traditions that go along with "state", including a t-shirt, towel, free meal at Noodles & company (best part), and a shaved head. It was really a fun week, and really fun for Tim and I to watch Nate swim at BYU, even if it was for a few short seconds.
