Happy, Happy Bday Nathan!

Happy 14th Bday! Nathan was ordained a teacher last Sunday. There will be no more collecting sacrament bread from the baker in our ward, no more BYC meetings, and no more gleeking...that's OK because Nathan was never able to master that skill as a deacon. It is SO MUCH FUN to see Nathan growing up. We love being able to treat him more and more like an adult.

The biggest present this year was his cell phone. Nathan had figured out when he would get a phone based on when we bought Sarah's phone. That would have been August of this year. But, because Nathan is working up at Cub Camp this year, we felt it would be best to give him one now. It was fun to tie it into his birthday. I love the expressions of surprise and just sheer joy with suprises like that. It is so rewarding to hold a privilige such as a phone for a while, as it makes it just that much sweeter to get it when the right time comes.

Nathan loves being BUSY. He has a summer cut out for him in that area-reading The Count of Monte Cristo for English, finishing a geography class online, working at cub camp every day, swimming, finishing an eagle project...Nathan really is a GOOD, GOOD boy, and does a nice job in balancing his responsibilities in all areas.
