South Jordan Country Fest

I have always wanted to go to this local event, but it never fit into our Saturdays in the past. We decided to try it out with Rinda (Tim's sister) this year. She has been many years, and her kids love it.
And, it certainly didn't disappoint us. Each of the kids got to try out an event and earned money for it-Alice participated in the stick horse raise and got a dollar coin. William was the bravest of them all and tried out "mutton bustin". He got on a sheep and rode it piggyback style for as long as he could go. He watched others do it before he jumped on. Afterwards, he said he loved it, but didn't want to try it again. He was able to stay on for quite a while.
Nathan chased the cash cow, and pulled ribbons off to exchange for cash. It was funny to watch him corner the calf and then get run over by a fearful calf. He even entereed the event to catch the greased pig but came up empty handed.
The best part was trying something new. Afterwards, we pigged out on Dreyers ice cream as we drove home in the rain. We have now had 21 days straight of rain in June, and never did we think we would be wearing jackets to a rodeo event at the end of June!

Send some rain our way - we have been super-dry this June! Sounds like a lot of fun for everyone.
