Tim got back from geode hunting the first time and had had quite a few friends/neighbors comment that they would like to check out this "place of geodes". So, we planned a campout and invited a bunch of families to come with in pursuit of more geodes. We had 3 families come with us and we spent a night camping before going to the geode beds. It was FREEZING but the kids didn't care. One of the best parts for me was making buddy burners and letting the kids cook on them. Nathan had made them before, but can you ever get enough of buddy burners? Tim hit the motherlode when he found a vein of geodes the next day. We spent the following Monday night (Memorial Day) cutting open the geodes with a tile saw. They look classy, being cut with a saw. It turned out to be a GREAT activity!
