We tried BYU Football a bit different this year-instead of getting a few tickets to each home game, we opted to get 8 of our tickets to one game so that the entire family could enjoy the ambience together. We still got 2 tickets to 3 other games, but we were going to go to one game all together as a family.
Because it was Homecoming that weekend, I had gotten an invite from the College of Education for the pre-game activities...pre-game activities you say? We love those words when they are associated with BYU Football.
Sarah teases that only the College of Education would have things organized at their pre-game (down to the "just for kids" activities to keep kids busy). Everything was oriented in that "educational sense", and it was all a lot of fun. Mind you, Tim also has "pre-game" festivities for the College of Engineering, but it COSTS-Money, that is. So, I decided that I liked my festivities better since they were FREE.
Afterwards, we still had time for the traditional pre-game celebration outside of the stadium and got our free coupons for Carl's Jr., as well as Sonic Drive-In. The older kids were able to sin some cool BYU bracelets that supposedly improve your balance. That was the coveted prize that night.
The game itself was icing on the cake. Tim took us to the entrance where the players emerge on to the field. The braver kids snuck out on to the field to watch the players practice-one player actually gave Alice his wristband (sweat and all). OK. I guess that was really the coveted prize of the night. And, to top it off, BYU won. And, it wasn't ever really close. Those games are fun!
